Product review: Pudology!

As I said, today I'm going to be reviewing Pudology, an award winning business who produce a range of vegan and gluten free puddings. I discovered them at VegFestUK (check out my previous post) and have been addicted since! After sampling each dessert, I decided to purchase five banoffee puddings.

Two of the delicious puds :)

Pudology use coconut milk as an alternative to cow's milk, making their desserts incredibly rich and creamy. They taste just as good, if not better than the average non-vegan pudding and, unlike a 'normal' pud, the ingredients list is full of vitamins and foods you can pronounce! The banoffee pud has three layers of chocolate, toffee & banana sauce and biscuit, each one as delicious as the last. My personal favourite is the biscuit base, as I really like the crumbly texture - it goes well with the banana and toffee sauce. I also liked the strawberry pud, but it had been so popular none were left. My daughter has become a massive fan of Pudology as well (she has dairy and egg allergies).

I am really hoping to see more of Pudology in the future and to hopefully try more of their puds (the lemon one sounds lush!) I've heard they've made a new millionaire's pud as well. My daughter tells me this sounds amazing. Other flavours are chocolate orange and chocolate.

You can get Pudology select Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tesco stores (unfortunately none near me) and other health food shops. They're on Ocado and goodnessdirect as well. All this information and more is on their website here

Vegfest UK

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to attend Vegfest UK. This was a vegetarian/vegan fair held in Olympia, London. It was an brilliant experience and is well worth going. I discovered some amazing new vegan products that I will be definitely be buying soon. Some of my favourite purchases included:

Pudology sell AMAZING dairy, gluten free and vegan puddings! My fave is definitely the Banoffee. Keep an eye out as you'll see them featuring in my next product review.
I also got some delicious rose and violet creams from Beech's fine chocolates! They actually taste like the flowers which is something I hadn't expected! The chocolates also come in lime and strawberry.
I discovered some great vegan subscription boxes: TheVeganKind and Vegan Tuck Box. They both look like a really good monthly treat so I will be looking more into those. Finally, I found a brand new vegan magazine company called Vegan Life Magazine! They publish every other month and are full of exciting recipes and stories.

The fair itself was a blast! There was a smoothie machine powered by a bicycle, so I was able to sip a delicious strawberry and banana smoothie whilst looking around the show. All you had to do was pedal, and the smoothie machine would use the energy from the cycling to blend the smoothie! Brilliant, eh? The Vegan Society had a lucky dip where you could not lose! I won a delicious Rebel Mylk drink that tasted very chocolatey.

Thank you Vegfest for introducing me to such fab vegan delights! I can't wait until next year! You can find out more about Vegfest here.

The best hot choc on the block!

Well I did promise a product review... and here it is (a bit late sorry!)
With the days getting shorter and the cold setting in, it's about the right time to start stocking up on those comfort foods.
And I finally have an excuse to start drinking hot chocolate!
When I became vegan, I thought my hot chocolate drinking days were over until I discover Clipper!
This is an actually amazing hot chocolate, you just add milk. I used oat milk which tasted great, but you could try any milk really. Tell me what milk worked for you in the comments, it would be great to discover which one works the best!
The hot chocolate itself tastes fantastic! It warms you right up and has a lush chocolatey taste that leaves you wanting more. It was all I could do not to finish the tin.
Clipper is a fairtrade company that also sell teas and coffees.

Sorry for the wait!

Hello everyone, long time no see!
Sorry about the long wait since my last post! I will try my best to post more often but I am very busy.
This post is not about products or recipes, it is in fact about the ocean! I have always loved the calming sound of tide coming in and out.
On my trip to the Isle of Wight, I captured this picture of kayakers by the Needles. The waves were so peaceful and I felt the need to sit on the beach and watch the glittering sun set.
Check out www.cruise.co.uk to make the most of your love for the ocean :)

Thanks!

P.S Sorry about the slightly off topic post, will be posting a product review soon!

Pure: dairy free butter

Pure is a delicious butter alternative, used for cooking, baking and spreading! I've been using Pure for years now and it has never failed me; I have baked brownies, cakes and cookies with it - all vegan of course! I put Pure on my daughters jacket potatoes, sandwiches and lots of other meals too! Many cannot even tell the difference between Pure and 'real' butter and I believe that pure is better and healthier for everyone. There are three spreads: Sunflower, Soya and Olive. I mainly use the sunflower, but I would also recommend the other two. The taste and texture is creamy and delicious. As well as this, Pure contains no artificial preservatives.
Pure is part of the Vegan Society and is sold in most supermarkets; I get mine in Sainsbury's. For more information and some great vegan recipes check out the website: www.puredairyfree.co.uk

Choices chocolates

I know it's been a while since I last posted. I will try to post more often!

Today, I'm going to tell you about a great vegan company that my daughter and I buy products from very frequently. Choices, by Celtic chocolates, sell confectionery, chocolate in particular. My favourite kind is their "Choc 'n' Crispie Bar" which uses crisped rice for an extra crunch! The cocoa content is a whopping 36% and the flavour of the bars is delicious: apparently even better that dairy chocolate!

Choices make freefrom bars for Sainsbury's too! You can buy this chocolate in lots of different forms: bars, buttons and even easter eggs! This is a very healthy alternative to 'normal' chocolates such as Cadbury's and Mars. If you consider buying, Choices bars are sold in Waitrose and freefrom bars are sold in Sainsbury's under their own brand. For more information, check out: http://celticchocolates.eu.

REVIEW: Tiger Tiger MAY-O

My first review, how exciting! Today, I'm going to share with you my latest discovery: egg free mayo. I know its been around for a long time but I haven't really got round to trying it until recently. This particular brand of vegan mayo can be bought from Sainsbury's in two flavours: plain and garlic.

When mixed with tuna and then put in a sandwich this tastes like absolute heaven. I have also tried putting the mayo on chips and as a dip to whatever I can lay my hands on! I find it goes well with some salads, but not with others, so my advice to you would be to experiment! As well as being vegan, this is  a gluten-free product too!

The taste of this is superb, having never tasted real mayo before I cannot compare but my daughter really does love it too! It is rather plain though, so if you are looking for that extra kick, try mixing with spices like chilli, pepper or cloves. All in all, I would give this product a seven out of ten.

For more information, like an ingredients list, check out Tiger Tiger's website: http://www.tigertiger.info/indian/table-sauces/plain-may-o-tsq04 Thank you for reading and please follow! Remember all opinions are my own. Good luck on your vegan journey!
